Specialty Oil & Vinegars

Specialty Oil and Vinegars:

Below are some of our out of the ordinary products, they can be used for delicacy cooking and drizzling and bring unusual and interesting flavours to any meal.

Specialty Olive Oils:

Avocado Oil:

This avocado oil is an extra virgin oil and like our olive oils is cold pressed. It is high quality and rich in oleic acid, a fatty acid rich in health benefits. You can cook this product on high heats meaning it is a lovely creamy flavor enhancer to any pasta dish. If you're more of a salad fan this product will enrich a salad using avocado as a base, add some tomato, cucumber, and spinach and you're set to go!

All Natural White Truffle Oil

A connoisseur’s favourite! If you like the earthy, bold and undeniable flavour and aroma of truffle, then you’ll LOVE this oil. Made in Italy in an artisan fashion without the use of any extracts, this olive oil is smooth, while having an unmistakable intense white truffle flavour. Makes an amazing finishing oil for so many dishes: try it in mashed potatoes, tossed with fries, drizzled on popcorn, on pasta, zucchini noodles or risotto with some freshly grated Parmesan or nutritional yeast! It also makes an amazing aioli. Once you start adding this “umami” sensation to your dishes, especially starches, there is no going back!  A little goes a long way, so use sparingly!

Dark Toasted Sesame Oil

Our Japanese dark toasted sesame oil is slow roasted at a low temperature, and then pressed in small batches. It has a tremendous depth of flavour and mouth-feel. A revelation with salmon, chicken or over rice. Try it paired with Sicilian Lemon or Blackberry Ginger balsamic. Make a stellar marinade by mixing it with soy sauce, garlic, scallions and Honey Ginger or Serrano Honey vinegar.  One of the most flavourful and fragrant oils in the world!

Roasted Walnut Oil

Our handcrafted, French Roasted Walnut Oil follows strict 150-year-old traditional methods. Slowly roasted to perfection, expeller-pressed and lightly filtered. This oil adds a rich walnut taste to salad dressing, pasta, grilled meat, fish, baked pastries, and is perfect to dip with bread. Make terrific dressings blended with our Red Apple or Blackberry-Ginger Balsamic Vinegars!

Roasted Almond Oil

Our California Roasted Almond Oil is expeller-pressed and lightly filtered with an amazingly delicate nose and deep-roasted flavour. Great for sautéing, drizzling, baking or bread dipping. Pair with the Wild Raspberry, Cara-Cara Orange & Vanilla or Sicilian Lemon white balsamics for an amazing vinaigrette.

Specialty Balsamic Vinegars:

Champagne Balsamic Hybrid:

This champagne-balsamic hybrid leaves little to be desired, it is thick sweet and holds a hint of the champagne taste we have all grown to love. Adding this as a bread dipper, drizzling it over cheese, or using as a glaze for stake all act as a game changer to any meal. Pair with any mild extra virgin olive oil to let the flavor shine.

Champagne White Wine:

Crisp, tart, with a sour after taste- this vinegar strays away from the grape base used in most of our products relying on its white wine base to carry through with flavour- and it delivers. This makes an impressive base for a variety of homemade sauces which can be used for pastas, chicken, and tuna.

Pinot Noir:

This balsamic has a lovely pink blush courtesy of its wine base, but its look isn't the most impressive aspect of this vinegar! The light Pinot Noir flavour enhances fish and chicken dishes spectacularly, and mixed with a lemon olive oil makes an impressive glaze on a summer day.

Serrano Honey  – sulfite-free!

Made from 100% pure honey, this 2008 SOFITM Silver award-winning balsamic vinegar is a combination of sweet, tart and spicy. This handcrafted artisan product makes a great addition to salsa, ceviche, Bloody Mary’s or shrimp. Delicious drizzled over tomatoes and fresh mozzarella cheese. Add to dressings for leafy green, potato, pasta or rice salads. Toss with sliced strawberries and a grinding of black pepper for a delicious dessert. Can be used in place of traditional grape-based vinegar.

Sherry Reserva  – aged 25 years

From Jerez, Spain, and made with the traditional Solera method, our Sherry Reserva wine vinegar has a true sherry flavour that can only come from cask-aging. It has no true substitute – it is loaded with complex, nutty and caramel flavours, which translate into more interesting salad dressings and incredible accents in soups and pan sauces. This fine Spanish vinegar is fabulous in reduction sauces, glazes, vinaigrettes and wherever strength and depth of flavour is desired.
